What Lunive is
Lunive — pronounced 루나이브 in Korean — is a software brand and company. It exists to make tools that respect the people who use them: software that prefers a clear surface over a clever one, and that earns its place by being pleasant to live with rather than by collecting features. Everything that ships under this name is designed, built, and operated by a single person.
Where the name comes from
Lunive is derived from Lunar — the moon. The intent in the name is short: tools that don't shout for attention, and that are at their best when they're close to you.
When Lunive began
The lunive.app domain was registered on May 7, 2025, and that is when the brand began. Company-status came later, in March 2026, with the launch of the first product — the Discord bot Cadenza. The alpha version, codenamed Legato, launched on March 3, 2026. The current public beta, Cadenza, launched on March 23, 2026.
The founder
Lunive was founded by software developer Jeongmin Lee, currently an undergraduate student in South Korea. The whole brand runs as a one-person studio: design, engineering, and operations are all the same person, which is how decisions stay coherent.
Four product principles
- High-fidelity design. Time goes into the finishing — the part most software skips. The details are where users actually live.
- Practical software. New for the sake of new is not enough. Lunive ships tools that earn their place in daily use.
- User-centered experience. The standard is whether the flow is good for the person using it, not whether it's convenient for the person who built it. When in doubt, decide from the user's seat.
- Modern tech, used with restraint. Tools are the means, not the goal. Lunive products are built on well-proven modern stacks like Next.js and Cloudflare — but the brand doesn't chase trends.
Why one person
A small surface lets a lot of decisions stay coherent. There is no roadmap by committee. No product is shipped because a meeting decided it should be. Each release is something one person actually believes is worth your time. That is also the constraint: there will always be fewer products than a larger team could ship, and that is on purpose.
The first product
The first product is Cadenza — a Discord music bot that comes with a real, polished web dashboard instead of asking you to live inside chat commands. You start a session with a slash command, and from that point on you have a private URL where queue, search, lyrics, and playback are all visible at once. The bot does not exist for itself; the dashboard is the point. It is currently in beta.
What's next
The next product on the bench is a Chromium-based browser. No release timeline or further detail has been announced.
